Last Saturday, our little family participated in the Governor's Cup.
Jeff and I have been talking about running the 5k for months and finally, after much talking, Jeff signed us up for the race.
Jeff was going to push Caderyn in the jogging stroller and my goal was to run the whole race and not stop. The last time I ran the race, I was in much better shape than I am now but I started off too fast and ended up having to walk part of the way. That was like two years ago though.
Race day was beautiful and Caderyn was having a blast. Jeff started the race wanting to run the first mile with me but then got it in his head that he wanted to race against and beat all the other people with jogging strollers so he took off.
I maintained my pace the whole race and had some dang good music playing. I finished the 5k in 33 minutes, running the whole way! It's proof that after baby, anything is possible.
P.S. Jeff wrote a column about it in the paper. He and Caderyn are famous!
