An (Un)Eventful Weekend

Coming off of a crazy week of sickness I decided that Caderyn and I weren't going to do a dang thing this weekend.

It has been wonderful for me. Caderyn is probably bored out of his gord.

Before I continue I would like to insert an apology here for not having any updated pictures. I still don't have my camera charger ( or my sunglasses). I do get paid this week and am anticipating buying another charger on Amazon.com for $8. As for the sunglasses- I might have to give Jeff the kicked puppy look until Christmas.

So Friday. I worked. I weighed in at Weight Watchers and celebrated the fact that I'd lost 2.8 pounds this week. This brings my total to 34 lbs. Woo! Here's to another great week. Then I went back to work. Then I went home and took Caderyn to the doctor for a check up on his lungs. The news wasn't great. The doctor was concerned because his lungs didn't really sound better. He was acting better, but his lungs didn't seem to be healing. So I sighed internally and put my mommy face on and started asking questions. What does this mean? Well this means that he needs to stay on antibiotics and the nebulizer for five more days. What else? He needs to come back on Tuesday. And? If he doesn't sound any better then we'll need to do x-rays immediately.
Great.
Oh and the doctor told me his activity levels need to be kept to a minimum this weekend. Easier said than done.
My poor sweet boy. He just wants to jump and play and mow the lawn with his fake lawn mower.
So mommy and Caderyn returned home on Friday. I wasn't in the best of moods, my mind was going crazy with worry. Then my friend Lisa texted me about going for a walk. We went out to Spring Meadow Lake- just five minutes from our house. Lisa and I have similar Kelty backpacks and we loaded our kiddos into them with Lucy on her leash and walked about a mile around this really pretty lake. We also solved the problems of the world. Thanks Lisa!
After the walk I picked Jeff up from work and he took us out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Emilianos. We ordered Caderyn a bean burrito and he pretty much ate the whole thing. I was amazed because that burrito was bigger than his stomach.
Then it was home and to bed for the big guy. I picked up the house and set to making a cake for Jeff. Once the cake was made in the freezer to be frosted on Saturday, I CRASHED on the couch. It was lovely.
Caderyn slept in until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. THANK YOU LORD.
I made homemade waffles and set to cleaning and playing.
Our day was filled with breathing treatments and trucks and walks and exploring. He took a great nap which allowed me to get more laundry done and frost the cake I made.
Bedtime was wonderful.
I have slept so much this weekend.
I'm getting ready to go into work for a few hours and that's about the extent of my weekend.
Aren't you glad to know!

Ready for September to End

Wow. September has been a crappy month. That's all I have to say about that.
I've missed more work in this one month that I think I've missed my whole three years of being in the professional working environment (save for my maternity leave- but that doesn't count because I worked all through that time off).

Caderyn has been sick three times this month. He had the flu in early September and kept us up late worrying and cleaning up puke and a sore bottom. Jeff and I in turn both got this flu bug from him. Minus two days of work- one and a half days were from me being too sick to move and the other half of that two day leave was me staying home with my guys to take care of them.

Last week he was in the doctor because his poor little bottom had a yeast infection. I had no clue what was wrong. All I knew is that his bottom should not have looked the way it did. He screamed and cried and was in so much pain. I felt so bad. He took lots of oatmeal baths and ran around naked (which he loves. He loves looking at his little dinger when he runs) until we finally took him into the doctor to determine what was wrong.

And NOW, that poor kiddo has bronchitis. I was gone on Saturday and so he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Windmueller. When we dropped him off he had a runny nose, but we assumed it was teeth 'cause he's got more of those bad boys coming in. When we got him back on Sunday he coughed once, only once on our drive back into town and it was a terrible hacking cough. I took one look at Jeff and we both knew we were in for a long night.
Sunday was a hard one. I kept sucking the boogies out of his nose, taking shower steam baths and lots and lots of rocking in the rocking chair. He stayed at home with Jeff on Monday and then when I came home from work I took one look at his little lungs sucking in really hard at the ribs and ran him to the doctor. They did a breathing treatment right away (we are becoming best friends with that nebulizer) and the doctor told me that if we'd had waited another day to bring Caderyn in he would have been in the hospital. So now we are doing three breathing treatments a day and Caderyn is on two different form of antibiotics. Tuesday I took a half day to be with him because Jeff is super busy at work this week and then yesterday I woke up with bronchitis. TAH DAH! Another day and a half of missed work. I'm happy to report that both Caderyn and I are on the mend.

Then, after Labor Day weekend my poor Grandpa in Missoula had a health scare that took me away for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and half a day on Friday of that week. I'm so thankful that I have a wonderful work schedule and environment where I am able to take time off to be with my family.

To top this month off, we've also had another mice infestation. Kitchen bleached. Mouse M.I.A. and a fly infestation. Kitchen bleached. 40 plus flies killed, fly paper installed, bug guy visitation. Flies are currently M.I.A.

Hopefully October is a better month. No more sickness, no more health scares and no more varmits.

The first and only wedding of 2010 I got to go to

I stole these pictures because, alas, we are still without our camera battery charger.
But, since I don't have any pictures of my sweet little Caderyn I thought y'all might like some pictures of me, myself and I with my girlie friends.
I love these girls- they crack me up. I've known most of them since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
Our friend Kenzie got married to her boyfriend of 8 years   (finally!) and it was gorgeous and perfect and there was lots of fun had by all.
PHOTO RECAP.

This last photo shows me ready to drive everyone home so I can go to bed...but wait...what's that? They were all so intoxicated that theylocked me out of the house so I had to sleep in a hotel!!!??? WHAT! Yeah. That's right. They did. Punks :) Remember girls. FRIENDS before BOOZE.

Food frenzy

Alas, since the charger for our camera has gone missing I have no picture updates.
Hopefully, this little bugger shows up soon or I'll be asking for a new camera for Christmas...a NICE one- all capital letters.

I did however, descend into a baking/cooking frenzy last night. Nothing fancy, but easy and yummy. I thought I'd share it with you all and then steal pictures from the internets to show you what they might look like.

For dinner last night I turned to my trusty ole crock pot. I put in three chicken breasts (tee hee) an 8 oz jar of salsa and 2 cans on basil, garlic and oregano seasoned tomates. Cook for 8 hrs and then you can put it on pasta, rice or make it into a burrito. Yummy!

Then, some friends of ours had an adorable little girl last week and I want to take them dinner.
So I looked up a breakfast casserole dish online at Once a Month Mom.
I really like this site. I go to it when I feel rushed to make something for dinner or want to plan ahead and make in bulk to give me a break.
So I went to this website and got this recipe and made it for them last night along with those big pretzels dipped in chocolate and lightly covered in rainbow sprinkles. I plan on taking this to them tonight since its recommended to wait a night on the casserole so everything gets good and soaked up.
THEN, tonight I'm making jambalya for dinner. Its a super easy recipe I found that doesn't call for any kind of fish or shrimp (I'm not a fish person). Jeff liked it the last time I made it so I'm making it again tonight with a few new twists.

I also have great aspirations to make some kind of sweet treat at least once a week when October rolls around. I've got caramel apple cupcakes lined up, apple cake, apple crisp- what am I going to do with all of this food that I can't eat???

I need a big kitchen to fuel these baking frenzies I have.

One day...

One day, I will live in the home found at this link. It's titled The Westwood. You have to scroll down a bit.
My cousin built this home and its currently the the Missoula Parade of Homes.
I love everything about this house. I love the size- not huge- not small, but just big enough. I want it.
And, one day, I'm going to have it.

Prayers Please

I don't know how many faithful followers i have, but for those of you that do read my blog, you've probably noticed that I haven't posted in quite some time.
I apologize for my absence, but my Grandpa McCampbell in Missoula has been fighting very hard to get better.
He had a blockage that needed to be surgically removed and since last Thursday he's had so many obstacles placed in front of him that's he's slowly starting to overcome.
Please keep him and my family in your thoughts and prayers- but especially him.
My Grandpa is THE MAN.
He's my twin (red hair, eyes, nose, fair skin)
He's my grandpa and I love him and so does everyone else.

On a side note: I am going crazy. i misplaced my camera battery charged AND my sun glasses. I can't find them anywhere and I need them both so terribly it hurts.
