WHAT I'M READING

Or have already read.
Aren't you so interested in this?

Last weekend I finished this book:
A friend of mine passed this along to me and I really enjoyed it! I suggest that everyone read it.

Now, I am currently reading this:

I got this book from a garage sale for .25 and since I have picked it up I honestly haven't been able to put it down! I find the detail involved with the characters and what they do to survive so interesting. If you haven't read this before, I might suggest trying it out. You might like it- just like me!
To add to my interest, I've even considered watching the movie (although I've heard it's awful).

What's Caderyn reading these days??
Well, these days my kiddo is particularly interested in this book:

He loves it because we sing it to him.

Now the hard part is trying to decide what to read next. I am back in school, so my textbook should be at the top of my list...but it's not.

FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES

W're starting early today with some witty sayings!
So just recently, Caderyn has taken interest in potty training. He's not 100 percent committed yet, but we have some interest and some trips to the potty have been very successful.

Scenario: Sarah (that's me!) sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast and doing the crossword puzzle. Caderyn playing with a new toy at the kitchen table.

Caderyn lets out a few grunts like he's working on something b-i-g if you know what I mean.
Me:"Caderyn, do you have to go poop? Let Mommy know if you do and we will sit on the potty."
Caderyn: "Noooo"
Me: We'll sit on your dinosaur potty (we got him a potty that looks like a dinosaur)
Caderyn: My potty scares me!
Me: Oh no! It shouldn't scare you. Your dinosaur potty wants to help you go poop and pee in the potty like a big boy (sometimes I can't believe the words that are coming out of my mouth).
Caderyn: My dinosaur potty likes me!
Me: Yes he does- he wants to help you!
Caderyn: My dinosaur potty loves me!
Me Yes he does!

Isn't it nice to know your potty supports your bodily functions?

A MONTANA ADVENTURE: VALIER

Friday after work I loaded little man into the car with treats and movies and we headed two hours north to Lake Frances. This lake is actually a man-made reservoir where they store water to help with farming irrigation. It's a pretty good size body of water in Valier, Montana.
Valier is a quiet little farming town surrounded, just absolutely surrounded, by golden wheat fields.
It's not mountainous, but rather hilly with just a silhouette of the Rocky Mountain front in the distance.
But I'm telling you, the golden fields are just gorgeous.
The lake

Mr. Tuff Guy loved going for walks and saying hello to everyone

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE

Nothing terribly new in our neck of the woods...except...
TODAY!
Today of all days that are Friday I am taking my handsome son camping!
Just you Sarah?
Yes! Just me!
Well, not really. You see my grandparents, aunt and uncle are also going.
We are going camping AND fishing HERE:

To the lovely Lake Frances just outside of Valier.
I will be sleeping in a motor home (okay it's not a tent but I still consider that camping!), I will be eating s'mores, I will be snuggling a cute little boy and, oh yes, I will be fishing.
I have a fishing license and everything. Maybe this time I will work up the courage to put a worm on my hook. Or maybe this time I will actually touch a fish. Who knows. So many possibilities.

Sadly, Jefferson will not be going with us. His Grandpa passed away last night and he's not really feeling very social. I don't blame him. Keep my guy in your thoughts. He needs them!

JUST YOU WAIT 'ENRY 'IGGINS

There are some moments in life, when I realize I kind of need to...you know...get a life.
Take today for instance. I caught myself singing to the Corgi. For a whole ten minutes I created a theme song titled "Lucy" about how she chases squirrels to no end/to those varmints she is not a friend.
Then I imagined what it would be like if Lucy could talk...
Sometimes I think she sounds like Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle BEFORE Henry Higgins has the speech breakthrough.
For reference:

While other times I imagine her talking in a breathy Marilyn Monroe voice with circus theme music playing in the background.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.
I'm going to the gym.
Then I might call someone to try and have a real conversation that doesn't involve my dog.

Say it with me now, "Aaaaaaaaaayyyyyyuh"

IMAGINE MY CHILD'S "GROWN UP" ROOM

If I were a more crafty person, I would already have changed Caderyn's room probably a dozen times.
As it stands now, I inherited none of my Grandmother's sewing skills or abilities to turn junk into a magical new furniture creation.
Sometimes, I feel worthless.
.
.
.
Ok. Done with the pity party.
For some time now I have been daydreaming about changing Caderyn's room.
He is getting to be quite the "big boy" now and I wanted to give him a fun room decor he could grow with.
Some of you know (mostly because I won't stop yammering about it) that I've joined Pinterest and have become obsessed.
In my pinning frenzies, I have stumbled across a perfectly perfect theme/decor for Caderyn's room.
And so, without further apprehension- I like that word- I would like to present my idea:
The Forest (with lots of owls)
So Caderyn already has this picture and these wall stickers on his wall:

Love them.
So keeping with the Nature/Foresty theme, I would like to add stuff like this:

The light
The bedding

The light fixtures

A photo with a cool log-like frame- yeah?

Another cute photo in a bright green frame

A dresser decoration

His book shelf.

Now, if I only have $500 to get everything on this list :)

P.S. You can find all of the sites for these photos on my Pinterest account. I've added it to my sidebar.
You're welcome.
