A LETTER TO GABRIEL: 5 MONTHS

My sweet Giblet:
You arrived five months ago today at 8:08 a.m.
Has it already been five months?
Part of me gets emotional at how quickly time is passing by, but the other part of me is excited for each new day and development.
You are the sweetest and most amazing boy that I know!
(Under the age of one, of course. I have to be careful here because your brother is the sweetest and most amazing boy over the age of three that I know. Mothers must not mix it up!)
Over the past five months, you have grown by leaps and bounds.
You have gone from this tiny, squishy faced little boy with tons of brown hair to a stocky little butterball with hair that changes colors practically every day.
You have sweet chipmunk cheeks and adorable baby hands that you are obsessed with.
You can't get enough of the world and are constantly whipping your head back and forth so as to not miss a moment.
We are still waiting for that first tooth to come through because you are definitely teething. You are covered in drool from morning until night and your tongue is constantly in motion.
You love stretching your entire body out as far as it will go. From the top of your head to the very tips of your toes you stretch. It's as though you are trying to grow faster so you can do everything you've been wanting to do in your last five months of watching.
You are super ticklish. So super ticklish that you might put your Uncle Taylor (also very ticklish) to shame.
You are especially ticklish right beneath your collarbone.
I love your giggle.
And Gabriel, oh Gabriel! Your legs. How I love your chunky little legs.
Your chunky little legs love to kick.
Your chunky little legs love to stand.
Your chunky little legs never stop moving.

You love to laugh and smile

But most of all, Gabriel, you love to holler and hear your voice!

You are starting to try and sit up.
You are starting to roll.
You still are a finger sucker to the MAX! You refuse pacifiers and just stick to your fingers.
You love to snuggle.
You have a set bed time routine that you seem to like.
You still aren't sleeping through the night. Last night you went down about 7:30 p.m. and got up at 4:00 a.m. to eat and then again at 7:00 a.m.
You are sleeping in your big crib now instead of next to Mommy's side of the bed.
You are fascinated by your brother and he is fascinated by you.
He loves cuddling you  and trying to comfort you.
He loves trying to play games with you and was even caught this week trying to pick you up (Mommy had a small heart attack).
His goal each and every day is to try and make you smile and laugh and more often than not, he is successful.
Gabriel, you have brought so much more joy into our lives and family than we can ever describe.
You have completed our lives and our family.
We love you.

Your current teething face.

Uh Oh! Someone is starting to roll!
My sweet and smiley snow bear.
