Our trip was short, we left after I finished working on Saturday and got in to Spokane around 9:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m. our time). We were pretty tired.
I tried to snap some pictures of the Tamaracks along the way to Spokane that are turning yellow with the changing weather, but most of them didn't turn out too swell.
Sunday we had a slow morning. Caderyn and I went out and explored a little bit. We stayed out at the air force base (Fairchild) again and really just like having a whole two bedroom house to ourselves. Once we got moving on Sunday we set out to Greenbluff Growers for a couple hours of fall fun. Greenbluff is a giant, GIANT plot of land that is broken up into different farms. Some of these areas have fall harvests, others grow only Christmas trees, or others are specifically for spring harvests.
I researched the different fall harvest areas and we picked Siemers Farm for their corn maze.
It was a good choice.
Our great corn maze leader.
Corn maze entourage.
The corn maze goal.
So this corn maze was one of the best I've ever been to. The corn was taller than Jeff and I, so we weren't even sure where we were going. They had so many twists and turns and fun surprises it took us about a half hour to make it through (because we are KIND of BIG deals). There was corn on both sides of the "castle" and you had to go through both sides before you made it to the castle. It was a well-thought out puzzle.
Corn maze fun stop: The Monster Mirror.
Wrong way, turn around!
Caderyn thought these were hilarious.
Look out! We had to get past the big gator first!
And then we went inside for a little bit. It's three levels and they have some funny murals painted on the walls and a throne and stuff.
Some of the views from up top.
Found this guy up there.
Then we got out of the maze and found a pirate ship that Caderyn played on for a few minutes.
*sigh* Look at those curls.
After the pirate ship we made Caderyn walk with us through the pumpkin patch (even though he complained most of the time because we already had pumpkins) because really, when can you say you've walked through a real pumpkin patch?
And then Caderyn rode a train
Teehee...it is called the Little Toot.
Waiting for the Little Toot to come in while standing in front of the Veggie Barn.
Then we got a snack.
We got the managers special of three huckleberry donuts with powdered sugar and three pumpkin donuts with cinnamon and sugar. Oh Lawd! So amazing. My thighs cried a little, but mama don't care. Mama wanted those donuts.
Caderyn wanted the donuts too.
The Caderyn and I hopped on a tour train around the farm and I snapped a few shots.
After that we were pretty much done. A couple hours had passed and it was getting chilly so we decided to head back.
Once we were back, we ordered a pizza and then I kind of crashed pretty hard.
I ended up having to go to the ER on Sunday night because I got hit super hard with strep throat, again. It was awful, they gave me a steroid shot and a shot of penicillin.
But I did manage to snap a few shots of our pumpkin carving before I was down for the count. We packed one of our bigger pumpkins to carve together because Jeff isn't able to come home until later on Halloween. So we brought one of the big ones to do together and then I'm going to carve the other two tonight with the boys.
