We woke up after our day in D.C. and packed our bag. After grabbing another delicious breakfast sandwich from Cosi we caught the Metro over to Arlington. We spent about 2 1/2 hours walking around the cemetery and looking at everything. We went to Kennedy's grave and saw the Changing of the Guard. During the Changing of the Guard one lady got yelled at by one of the guards for sitting because sitting during the ceremony is considered disrespectful. After wandering around a bit, some random guy offered to give us a ride back to Fort Myers. We weren't creeped out by him and he and Jeff instantly connected because of military involvement. It was SO nice not to have to walk. Once we got to our car we took off on the road to see where our first day of driving would take us.
This is a really bad angle for Jeff. He looks like he's gained about 20 pounds when he's actually very skinny.
That first day we made it to Huntington, West Virginia before stopping for the night.
Day two of our journey took us through Kentucky where we stopped at a Woodford Reserve, a bourbon distillery. The place was gorgeous and it was fun to learn all about the bourbon and how they made it and the different flavors, but let me tell you, I am not a bourbon girl. Whoooo.
I powered through and gagged my way through the tasting. It was just a little to strong for me and the taste just settled at the back of my throat and burned.
After the distillery we powered through and drove to Columbia, Missouri where we stayed the night.
