On the way home from school Friday it was so hot and muggy I decided we were going to stop and get a treat. To add to this, lately Caderyn has been getting in trouble because of his sass. Holy moley does that little wanna-be pre-teen sass.

Caderyn: So I'm going to get a snow cone?
Me: Yep. We need a treat.
Caderyn (in a goofy voice): Yeah, we need a treat, we need a treat. Ha ha ha.
Caderyn: But not like "Ha ha ha" I'm going to lose my treat. This was a I was just joking "Ha ha." Okay Mommy?

To be completely honest I wasn't paying attention until he said those words.

I'm a day late, but our Friday was pretty I slept in. Whoops.
This week was HOT and MUGGY. I felt like I was living in the south and kept looking around for a bayou the air was so thick. Bleh.
But overall, another good week.
Our weekend was lazy and perfect. I was exhausted and went to bed at 8:30 p.m. that Friday night and slept until 7:30 a.m. Saturday. It was amazing.
So we just hung out at home and played and snuggled.
Sharing a nice mother and son moment before Caderyn got his toy tangled in my hair and tried to yank my head off.
This is Mr. Bonehead. Caderyn earned him by filling out his latest sticker chart for good behavior.
Donuts. We made them all on our own and they were goooooood!

Taking a nice evening hike before bedtime. The sun sets fast here!
Watching The Lego Movie for the kajillionth time and they still love it.

Swimming and being silly.
Caderyn had a major growth spurt the last two months. He's grown five inches. We were trying to show Jeff in pictures just how much he's grown. Check out this costume he got at Christmas and how short it is. He is also halfway to my height already. Yikes.
Bonus point if you can recognize what Caderyn is doing in the second picture and double bonus points if you can spot my mom. :)
Lucy has reminded us daily that she is "ignored" and "unloved."

My Thursday with this guys was a pajama day. He got to watch Planes while I scrubbed the whole house.

Corgi rump.
Have a great weekend and week everyone! We have a pretty fun one planned!

I miss my brother.
This was three years ago. I was still in the new phase of pregnancy with Gabriel and had JUST been given the okay to come off of bed rest.
My family was in Montana for Christmas and decided to have an ugly sweater gift exchange with my mom's side of the family. It was SO much fun. We all looked so classy.
Just how classy you ask? Well look at that picture up there and then I'll give you some more because I found these pictures this morning and haven't been able to stop laughing.
It was fun. I want to do another one.

I totally, TOTALLY, fan girl over Ed Sheeran. I think he and I would be the two very best ginger friends that there ever was!

I think bed skirts are the biggest waste of fabric. EVER. Plus they annoy the hell out of me by always getting tucked into the sheets when I try to make the bed.

I'm a perpetual rule follower.

Um hello Jennifer Lopez's new song "Booty" is quickly climbing up the charts of my favorite songs. It's hilarious.

I'm refuse to buy or let my children wear any article of clothing with a skull on it. Unless its around Halloween and the skull is doing something silly. I'm really picky about what they wear.

I'm still pretty much a big fan of wearing workout clothes on a regular basis, but now I really like wearing dresses. What the?

I have always, and probably will forever struggle in high heels. I just feel like I schlump around with my great big body.

I spent a large amount of money (large for me) on an eye brow pencil that is supposed to be universal and matches to any color on its own--pretty fancy shizz, huh? For the better part of a week I've been trying to go out of my makeup comfort zone and use it 2-3 times a week when I actually put on makeup, but I haven't noticed a difference. Well then I looked what I'd bought up online and found out it was a universal lip liner They gave me the wrong product and because I'm so oblivious to make up, I didn't even check or question it.  I thought it made my eyebrows look waxy.

I always put my creamer for coffee in my cup first and then pour or Keurig the coffee in. It mixes it automatically!

I get nervous when I read the news these days and usually end up having a nightmare if I read a story in detail. I've had some freeeeaky dreams.

I used to go all crazy for designer purses and now I need a new one and I'm having trouble spending more than $20. I mean seriously, I can't justify spending $200 on a purse, I mean yes, it is suuuuuuuper cute and its a Kate Spade, but $200 could put me closer to owning a home or buy me a plane ticket.

In no particular order, here are the places I love to shop because I usually find most of my clothes there. Banana Republic, H & M, The Loft, Ann Taylor, The Limited, The Rack, Old Navy, TJ Maxx. I don't usually get a ton of clothes from Target, they are really hit or miss with me, but I do have a few shirts and some dresses from there.

People watching in a mall is one of my most favorite things to do.

I want to go to Disneyland for my 30th birthday. I also want a HUGE party with all the people I love.

I love getting snail mail.

I love throwing parties.

Facebook and the type of stuff some people post just fascinate me. It's like watching a train wreck sometimes, but you can't look away even though you know its going to be horrific. And it usually is. I have backed WAY off on my posting just out of sheer media exhaustion, but I like putting my posts up so family and friends can see what we're up to.

I'm in dire need of a girls night out...just saying.

I love watching old movies and making fun of them. Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a fave of mine!

Following with that, sometimes I get into the bad habit of commenting during movies. Not in the theater, but at home.

I've been perfecting the "Robot" dance move for years.

Two nights ago I put the baby monitor in the bathroom while Caderyn was in the tub. This was the portion of the monitor that I keep in my room to hear what's going on. Then I snuck into the boys room and in my scariest voice said, "Caderyn I see you." Then I went back into the tub like nothing happened and Caderyn said, "I think Robot Mommy is broken."

I can wiggle my nostrils.

And there you have it!

Caderyn, Caderyn, Caderyn.
Where do I begin?
He is flourishing right now.
His five-years-old, but I mean really, he's practically six. His half birthday was a couple weeks ago.
Caderyn treats every day as an adventure, and he is happy to get up (nearly) every morning.
He loves knowing what he's doing and having a plan each day.
He likes to have something special to do each day.
He loves living with Mimi and Papa.
He misses everyone in Montana, but is also thriving here. He will always be a Montana boy. Yesterday he asked, "What do you think the weather is doing in Helena? I bet it feels cold."
He is tall, so tall.
He eats non stop. From the second he gets up in the morning he is hungry. After eating dinner, he's hungry. He has a banana, a granola bar, toast, strawberries, a yogurt, and a bowl of cereal all before going to bed.
He loves all things Scooby Doo, superhero, dinosaur related, Minecraft (I'm rolling my eyes on this one), Lego, and anything that has to do with fixing.
He loves watching football with his Papa on Sundays.
He loves wrestling.
He has the best imagination. The last two nights he has been a hungry dinosaur trying to capture Mimi-saurus's (my mom) baby dinosaur (Gibby). It has been hilarious to watch.
He learned to tie his shoes.
His handwriting is fantastic. He can write the entire alphabet, capital and lowercase, all numbers up to 30 and his first and last name.
He is learning about letter sounds and can read words he wasn't able to read a month ago just using his sounds.
He loves school. He's doing so well.
He (surprisingly) really likes that I work at his school. He tells me every day that we go to school together how much he likes it. He also really likes seeing his Mimi at school every day.
He has the best laugh.
He has the driest sense of humor and way of saying things sometimes.
He likes baking.
He is a little gentleman and always tries to hold the door for ladies, saying "Ladies first."
He is complimentary, he tells you if he thinks you look nice.
He loves popcorn. We have to tell him to slow down he eats it so fast.
He loves his undies.
He wants to be a house builder when he grows up.
He is a very good big brother.
He works very hard to earn stickers every day on his reward chart.
He talks with his hands and it is hilarious.
He loves helping Papa fix stuff and work outside.
He misses his Daddy.
He loves dancing.
He gets frustrated easily and can be quick to temper (we are working on that).
He has a loose tooth and it is freaking him (and me) out.
He calls pigeons "chickens."
He is a rule follower and always wants to know if we are going to speed limit. I never am.
He is friendly and outgoing.
He is silly and likes making people laugh.
He is a little teacher and tries to help others understand.
He won't flush the toilet, no matter how many times we remind him.
He likes to sleep in his undies now and every night without fail will say, "Look Mommy, I'm sleeping in my undies. Like a guy."
He loves Halloween. Like absolutely loves it. He wants it to be Halloween NOW.
He asks questions about everything. Good questions, very thoughtful questions.

And now you know a little about Caderyn.

I have not one, but two "Caderyn says" for y'all on this fiiiine Monday.

In the morning, Caderyn  usually likes a play by play of what he has to do.

Me: So you need to go to the bathroom, then we'll get your shoes on and brush your teeth. Then you can go with Mimi.
Caderyn: Yeah, that's not going to work for me.

Yesterday while rushing him out the door for church.

Me: Let's go, let's go! We are late! You can put your shoes on in the car.
Caderyn: (throws his hands and his shoes dramatically in the air) I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

Oh helloooo! We've had another busy, but fun week. I've worked some and played some. The kids have had a pretty good week, and they are pretty pooped at the end of the day.
Last week some friends from Montana came to Arizona for some lady friend time. One of us girls is getting married this December in Hawaii, and since most of us are unable to make that celebration we all tried to get together for a little bachelorette weekend. On Friday we got all gussied up and went out to dinner in Scottsdale. We ate at Sumo Maya...I would NOT recommend it. I wasn't impressed at all. Saturday I got caught up with my friend, Sarah, who introduced me to Dutch Brother's coffee (Yum!) and then we all met up at Scottsdale for some shopping and a DE-licious lunch at Olive and Ivy. Here are some pictures.
The most makeup I have worn in...probably a year, and 9/10's of it is on my eyes.
You know, somewhere out there is a picture from a freshman dance Sarah and I went to at her high school. We tried to re-enact our picture with that beauty on the left. The one on the right just makes me think, "Dang! I've got some nice looking friends! We all clean up real nice!"

 Crazy eye glare.
Crazy eye glare #2
Crazy eye glare #3
Bright-eyed and busy tailed the next morning waiting in line for coffee.
Such an awkward angle, but such good coffee.

Caderyn made a little something for his Dad.
My mom wanted to watch America's Got Talent on Tuesday night. Gibby loved it and made her dance with him during all of the songs.
Gibby got ahold of my phone and took over 50 pictures.
Please note: cute feet, Lightning McQueen, diaper crotch, and Lucy.
Mornings are sometimes very hard for these boys.

And sometimes little dogs get caught being naughty. She's not allowed on the couch and she knows it. She tries to become one with the couch and hopes you won't notice her.

Have a great weekend!
If you need me I'll be trying my hand at baking donuts with my mom...and then eating them...and then making myself run for eating them.
