So continuing with our catch up. We are still in August. The first day of school couldn't come soon enough. The kids were going stir crazy and there was only so much we could do before Mom collapsed from exhaustion. Gibby too. We played hard that whole week school started.
We had a little bat friend take up camp across the way from our home. It led to excited morning checks to ensure it was still there and prompted hundreds of questions about bats. Hundreds.
Caderyn's school did a welcome night for new families. The boys were more interested in swinging to that mountain view than meeting new people.
And then, poof, school was ready to start. We got to take Caderyn into his new school and meet his teacher, find his seat, and, most importantly, check out the classroom pets.
The first day of school for Caderyn was a whirlwind. It was felt with both relief and sadness. Most of you who keep up with this blog have probably seen these pictures already, but I don't care. I love them. So, here was Caderyn's first day of school. FIRST GRADE.
Gabriel had a hard time adjusting to this time without Caderyn. He pouted and whimpered for about two hours after we sent Caderyn off to first grade. So, after some snuggles, we did our best to fill that void.
There were only two days of actual school days, so we didn't have to come up with too much to entertain the Gibster.
And when Friday rolled around and we celebrated with a sweet treat.
