DECEMBER: A MILITARY BALL IN NOVEMBER

Hello again! Look at me! I'm posting once a week again. Here's hoping I can get you caught up before Christmas.
So, moving on into November, we had a very warm November. The mornings were chilly and then it would warm up throughout the day into the 70s which is unheard of in those mountain towns! Unheard of! But it was lovely and we soaked it up.
Lucy soaked it up the most.

Jeff experienced a Lego building high. He goes through phases where he will get an idea in his head about what he wants to build and then he and the boys spend three days just building and building.
He gets a little weird about it...its cute.
The boys were anxious for the Christmas season and broke out some festive hats.

We had more guests arrive for Thanksgiving fun. My mother and father-in-law came into town to help watch the boys while the Husband and I went to our first official military ball. My sister-in-law and two nieces also came into town for some fun. Our house and hearts were very full.
Just ignore my no makeup-ed and tired face and LOOK! Look at my adorable butterball of a niece.

So the day of our ball arrived. I got my hair done and then had an iiiiiiiiiiinteresting experience with my makeup. The lady was sweet and she really did her best. But it was totally obvious she didn't know how to work with my fair skin. I liked the foundation, my eyebrows, and lipstick.  Buuuuuuuuuuuut
There is a but.
But, my eyes were way too dark and really not me. Even though I told her a couple times I was more earth tones. She kept insisting on black eye shadow and I just kept taking deep breaths. Then she did this funny thing called contouring that looks really awesome on someone named Kim Kardashian, but not really on someone like me who doesn't wear a lot of makeup. I had like visible brown lines drawn on my nose and my cheekbones. So I quickly hurried home and did a quick little fixer-roo on my face. I thanked my mom about a million times for the few makeup tricks she'd taught me through the years...the ones I'm pretty sure I fought and argued with her on because I really HATE wearing makeup.
The picture really muted the eyes and the cheeks but I SWEAR! I came home and both my father-in-law and husband had very quizzical looks on their faces.
And after I was done. Still elegant. Less black and brown.
Once my makeup was fixed, we were off to the ball and the location it was at was AMAZING. Like ten stars amazing. Our room was the bomb.com (yep, went there) and everything about the whole experience was just breathtaking and exciting. So, without further rambling, here are pictures of our rooms view and the evening event.
So fancy!
The next morning we enjoyed the grounds around the hotel and had the most delicious brunch. Seriously, this place was like a dream. We stayed until literally the very last minute before we had to check out, that's how much we loved it.
Ughhhhh. Horrible, right!
I could stay at this hotel EVERY weekend.
