Moving along through December and into Christmas week.
We had lots of company coming and it was exciting!
My brother, whom we haven't seen in over a year, was the first to arrive. Yay!
It was so much fun having him here for a visit! The boys just loved it and were totally his best buds the entire time he was around. Once he woke up, we took him out to breakfast at our favorite breakfast place with the cinnamon roll pancakes and then whisked him off to Manitou Springs for some video game playing.
We were so busy playing we didn't take very many pictures. While we were there a policeman walked up to me and asked if he could borrow my kids. We were super confused and he wouldn't just right out state what he wanted them for so we all followed him to the main street where he opened up his police vehicle and revealed a car full of toys. He then let the boys pick out any toy they wanted from the car. Apparently that's tradition in Manitou Springs, the officers will give gifts to children around the town. It was very sweet and the boys were so excited. When we finished at Manitou, we scooted off to the airport to pick up our next V.I.P.s, my parents!
It was a chill night after that. Lots of catching up to do. We had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner and spent the night just chatting away.
The next day, December 23, we met some friends up at The North Pole Amusement Park near Woodland Park for a chilly day of fun. It's not on a Disneyland scale, but it was definitely a perfect way to spend the day before Christmas Eve. The rides were tame enough that the parents could enjoy them but also thrilling enough that the kids wanted to go over and over again.
My legs were in the Christmas spirit. Not going to lie. It was a little too chilly just to wear leggings.
First ride of the day was the SkyRide.

Lots of Tilt-a-Whirl sessions occurred. My head is still spinning.
And we continued to move around the uniquely adorned park.
After our day of excitement, we got one of our great baby-sitters to come over and hang with our tired boys while we went out to a delicious dinner at Ivywild and then strolled around The Broadmoor. It was a perfect, PERFECT day. By the end of the night my stomach was sore from laughing so much. I love being around my people--my parents, my family.
