June arrived and we blasted into summer without batting an eyelash.
I tried to load the kids up as much as possible this summer and take them out to explore and hike or just have an adventure. Yes, the complained--mostly on the way there. Kids do that. You just ignore it, or assure them of the fun you will have, or change the subject...or if they don't stop, sometimes I might threaten them. But we only had to do that once.
Our first fun hike of the summer was the Seven Bridges Hike. This is my favorite hike in the area.
Standing next to his soon to be age number. Like a boss.
And now a new series called "Why is Jeff Sleeping?"
Jeff is sleeping because he was hungry.

Gibby started swim lessons, had them for one day, and then the pool broke. It was a bummer because he was so excited about them. We had him take some private lessons in Montana this summer, but he's getting ready to take more intense lessons again starting next week.
Caderyn continued with swim team into the summer. He participated in a few fun meets that were really a good way for him to end the summer season. We've been resting and having fun swim, but he will be starting up swim team again next week.
My first ever painting project. I was hyperventilating at this moment. It turned out pretty good.
Jeff had a birthday. We kept it low key, inviting his buddy from Denver down to celebrate with us. The cake was deeeeeee-licious.
Gibby's best buddy Logan moved away in March, but he came back for a visit and we were able to have him over to play. Logan requested I make cookies while he was there, so I obliged.
Caderyn had a BIG swim meet at the Olympic Training Center. The pool is huge and he got tired, but he swam to the best of his ability.
I took him out to carb-load after his big swim day. We tried Rasta Pasta--its Bob Marley themed. He complained about eating noodles at first and then shut his mouth the second the food arrived. *Insert annoyed mom eye roll here*
We had a big kickball game and BBQ for a bunch of friends that were moving this summer. UGH this summer was a hard one. So many friends moved. It was a rough one. The kickball game versus that kids was amazing. I was pretty sore the next day.
These sweet little twin fawns were born at my work. I got to spend a few minutes watching them and taking pictures as they hobbled around their new home.
Lucille. In her element.
Caderyn's last swim meet of the summer.
